Players who have bounties placed upon them receive three stacks of the bounty, indicated by the number next to the bounty icon, and lose one stack for each death they suffer by a hostile player. Redeploying or dying will interrupt a killstreak when un-bountied, and a new one will need to be started Spotting an enemy with a bounty displays a unique "Bounty" marker ( ), both in the world and on the mini-map, rather than the regular triangle. When a bounty is acquired, a small icon ( ) appears on the HUD above the ability energy/ammunition count display. To gain a bounty, seven enemies must be killed in a single life, and without any pre-existing bounties. The Bounty System is a mechanic that marks players who engage in long killstreaks, giving them a unique marker when spotted and increasing experience earned both from their own kills and upon other players killing them.
